I had to write this for my English 1 class. And either today or tomorrow, I have to present it to the class. bleh. tell me what you think.
Why Xbox 360 Dominates the Gaming Market
&nb sp; I believe that the Xbox 360 dominates the gaming market. I think so because it is fairly cheap, has a large variety of games, and appeals to a wider crowd than some consoles do.
&nb sp; A first concern for many people is price.
&nb sp; You might think that a good Xbox 360 is really expensive. However, you can get a premium xbox 360 for around 300 dollars. While that may seem like a lot of money, You should compare it to some other prices first. For example, PS3 ranges from around 300 to 600, and wii is about 250. Wii may be more cost effective, but has less features. Ps3 has similar features, but greater cost. The best ps3 costs about 600 dollars when the xbox 360 elite (best form) costs about 400. That’s 200 dollars you can put towards a nice game, or some accessories.
Another thing people ask is, why get Xbox 360 when Wii is cheaper, and Play station has a longer history in console gaming?
Wii may be cheaper, but only by 50 dollars. And what does that 50 dollars cost you? Well, the best in online console gaming for one. While Wii does have online play, there is no voice communication and a terrible friend function. PS3 has really nice online play, with up to 60 players at once in some games. But that might get too crowded, or maybe lag your system. I’ve also heard that the friends list on PS3 is nothing spectacular either. Xbox 360 currently supports up to 16 people at once, with full voice chat and mute options. The friend system is nothing short of amazing, and it’s just really easy to use.
PS3 owners will usually claim that they have the better games, and Wii owners say they have the more innovative games.
PS3 fans often do say that they have better games, but when you ask them what that consists of, what can they say? Heavenly Sword bombed with critics and gamers alike, and the Killzone series is nothing really new. Maybe the Resistance series or Metal Gear Solid 4 would be good, but the Xbox has Bioshock, Halo 3, The Orange Box, Battlefield: Bad Company, and so many more. And while Wii may have more innovative games (because of the motion sensing remote and nunchuk), that doesn’t really mean that they’re better games. While it’s neat to play a first person shooter using the remote as a gun, it’s just not the same as playing with a controller. Same goes for fighting games, puzzle games, and most other kinds of games.
In conclusion, I’d like to say that my point isn’t to bash other game consoles. Wii is fun and exciting with its motion controls, but it gets boring after spending a few hours with it (Overall, not in one sitting.). And Wii doesn’t often get games from 3rd party publishers, its often just Nintendo games. PS3 is fun, I’m sure. It has its share of fun games, it connects to your psp, and has free online play. However, Xbox 360 is just the most well-rounded system. It has something for everybody. That’s why I believe that Xbox 360 dominates the gaming market.
