What it is

A way to make money using the MTS system recently opened in MTS. It is completely legit. I'll talk about 3 methods which you can go about it. I have made upwards of 50 mil using MTSM for only about a month. I made up this system all by myself, there may be people who developed their own methods, but I don't really read merchanting guides. So if this sounds similar to someone else's then know that I am not copying them, we just have similar methods.

*Note: I doubt anyone will want to, but please do not copy my guide anywhere else without my permission, and if you do you must credit me. And not on basilmarket. I don't want to be charged with ruining the maple economy like they charge Isile of doing.*

Why use MTSM vs. normal merchanting?

MTSM is a great way of merchanting because you can make money from buying things in the fm at or above market prices. This opens a lot more opportunities in the fm. It is also a great way of getting expensive items cheaper (I got a clean average Blue Marine, normally upwards of 30 mil in Mardia, for about 23 mil). To maximize profits, combine this with your normal merchanting.

Getting Started

First, you will want a store permit. Easiest way to sell your items, and the best way to sell them for market price. You can either buy some NX to get the store permit (1800 for 3 months is a fantastic price), or buy things to sell in MTS to get the NX necessary. If you do it right, it should cost about 4 mil.

You will seed money, because like all merchanting, you need money to make money. I recommend at least 10 mil, 20+ mil is even better. You might not make that much money at first, or maybe even lose money while you're still learning prices/ratios.

I also recommend a notebook to keep track of prices. You might already do this for normal merchanting. For each item, make 2 columns, 1 for the general market price is mesos, and another for the average nx price in the MTS. This will take some time researching, or you can fill it in as you go along.

Method One: Gach and Sell Method

Feeling lucky? Using this method, you can make tons, and I mean TONS of money. Either buy NX from a store or the website, or raise NX in MTS. Buy gach tickets (I recommend getting the set of 11 for 10k nx), then gach at either Sleepywood or Zipangu. Zipangu would be your best bet.

You can either then sell the items for mesos or try to sell the items for nx. When you get to 10k nx again, buy 11 more tickets, and repeat. I, however, do NOT recommend this method. If you're buying NX anyways then I would say go ahead and gach. But don't spend upwards of 20 mil raising the money for a gach run, when the average output of an 11 ticket gach run is 20 mil anyways. Sure, you may get the 4 att PAC, you may also get all ramens.

Method Two: Buy and Sell Method

This way isn't really merchanting, but simply a way to get the most out of your NX. Got 10k nx but don't feel lucky enough to gach? Simply buy items in the MTS to sell. If you do it right you can get about 30 mil from $10 or 75 mil from $25. The catch here is that you HAVE to buy a nx card. NX purchased via PayPal does not show up in the MTS.

Method Three: Buy, Sell, Buy, Sell Method (aka Actual Merchanting)

This method is the one you will use most. The basics are you buy items in the fm, sell those items for nx in MTS, buy items in MTS for that nx, then resell in your store. This method is the safest and cheapest (wallet-wise), but the profits will be a little less. But, if you follow prices correctly, this method is a great way to earn money.

The 2/3 Rule

There's the "golden rule" of MTSM: When SELLING things in the MTS, you want to get 1k nx for every 2 mil mesos. When BUYING things in MTS, you want to get 3 mil per your 1k nx.

An example: in Mardia, 10% spear scrolls go for about 500k. The nx value of those scrolls are 300 nx (roughly). I could technically buy these scrolls ABOVE market value at 600k. If I sell 10 I get 3000 nx. 30% overall int scrolls are worth about 9 mil in Mardia. And if you can get a good deal on them they're about 3k nx. I turned 6 mil into 9 mil.

Do not worry about getting exactly 1k nx per 2 mil mesos. It's sometimes worth it to price it a little under for a quick sale. Don't go too close to 1k nx per 2.5 mil mesos, because then it's not worth the hassle then. Same thing with buying things in MTS. Sure, 3k for the overall int scroll is ideal, but if it's 3100 I will still buy it. As you go along you will get a general feel for prices.

What do I buy? What do I sell?

Like all merchanting, buying and selling the right things is important. Sure, that 1H axe scroll was only 75k, but you will not sell it in MTS for 110 nx. Not that many people use axes, or 1H ones for that matter. Remember that the buyer is paying 100 + 10% nx for your item. Believe it or not, 60% glove att scrolls are terrible for MTSM. Average price in Mardia is 4.5 mil. You would have to sell it for 2.25k nx. And with buying. The average price for a buyer is 1800-2000 nx for a scroll. That means you would have to sell it in your store for 5.4-6 mil mesos.

Don't be afraid just to merchant the item normally. I found a wand m.att scroll in the fm for 500k. I could've sold it for 500nx then gotten about 1.5 mil out of it. But I sold it in my store for 2 mil because that's the better price.

What to buy and what to sell is something that is dependent on each world's market. I only play in Mardia so I don't know other word's prices. I can give you some suggestions, however. Do your own research.

Things to sell for NX

Overall DEX 10%

Overall LUK 10%

Spear att 10%

Clean colored WGs

Cheap maple weapons (no bows or claws, idk about xbows)

Clean colored bandanas

Mid to high equipments (I recommend 60+, only if it is above avg, works best if it's just equips you get from drops)

Mid to high weapons (Clean is best, scrolled only if you know you can get a good price)

Dark Crystal Ores (try 1000nx (1200 for buyer)/10)

Things to buy with NX

Overall INT 30%

Glove m.att 30%

Helm ACC 30%/70%

Helm INT 30%

Shoe Jump 30%

Red Whips

Clean PACs/Clean PuACs(maybe, haven't tried this)

Spend about 10 min looking at the first page of just added items. You can snag good deals there. Just keep going back and forth from equips to use.

Be wary of items price 221 nx. They may seem cheap but it has to be worth at least 650k mesos for it to be a good deal!

Patience is Key

This method takes time. I had a 16 str 104 att Maple Belzet that I scrolled for cheap. I went to sell it and it sat in my store for a week, the highest offer I got was 10 mil. I decided to put it up for 5k nx. Took a couple days but I eventually sold it. I can now get 15 mil out of that 5k nx.

When you log on, go and put your items up for sale in the MTS. Don't be paranoid and check it every 15 min. Play as you normally do. When you go to log off, go back in. (Hopefully) some items sold. Cancel the sale of the things you did not sell, the re-add them. That way you're not buried and maybe a chance person looking for your item will see it. Plus, if people are searching for your item, they will see it first.

And just because you have 5k nx does not mean you have to spend it. Don't see anything that you can get good money from? Wait. The nx will still be there tomorrow.

I had to go with my dad to this medical building today for a "consultation" thing for him. why did I have to go? Because my dad's all like "I don't wanna go by myself", and I didn't have anything else to do, plus he yelled at me for having an attitude. See, he's having surgery soon for a hernia (I know, gross right?), and I was "complaining" about having to go with him for the surgery since I have to drive him home.

Well duh. No one is overjoyed to sit for 4-5 hours while their dad is having surgery, then have to drive him home is construction infested roads. Seriously, the saying is true, Michigan has 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction XP. The Zilwauke Bridge, which was only supposed to be closed for a month, is still closed because the morons drilled in the bridge too deep. And about 2/3 of the I-75 I drive on is all tore up. PLUS, the hospital is in downtown Saginaw, which is #19 on the country's worst crime areas. It's news if there ISN'T a murder/robbery/arson, etc...

So his appointment is at 1:45 pm, we get there about 15 minutes early. And the place is pretty packed, I figure it's just because there's more than one surgeon in the suite. WRONG. The surgeon guy is still in surgery, and all the people are waiting for him ahead of my dad. Well, not everyone there's one other surgeon seeing people. So I grab a Newsweek and start reading about endangered polar bears.

It's a surgeon's office, so needless to say there's some pretty rough looking people there. There's some guy with an amputated leg (and I read in the newsweek about people with a disorder who actually WANT to cut off their limbs lol), alot of old people, etc. There's this heavyset lady who is sitting there sleeping, and apparently they call her name because she slowly gets up. Slowly turns....then falls to the floor and faints. I was like HOLY CRAP! but I just sat there and stared. Like what are you supposed to do? They get her up and in a wheelchair and get her back into the doctor's room. About 20 minutes later EMTs come in with a stretcher. I seriously thought she died O.O but they took her out and she was awake. Talking on her cell phone LAWL.

So the surgeon finally comes and my dad gets to see him, and hour and a half later than his appointment time. But we did have Long John Silver's afterwards so it's ok XD

*side note* I can NOT get Howard Jones' "Things Can Only Get Better" out of my head. Pure 80s awesomeness (whoa whoa whoaaaa whoa whoa whoaaa) He's totally hot too, even as an old dude XP

Today was a good day in the world of Maplestory. Went from lv 96 at 85% to level 98 at 55%. Mostly because I got one of those 1 time 2x cards during 2x tonight....10k exp per wyrmven = win. I was very excited for level 98 because I could wear my 16 int 7 slot Blue Bazura. I even got a 60% overall int scroll earlier for 10 mil. Basilmarket ftw. And it worked. So I get to level 98, put my AP and SP in, and double click on it to wear it.

"Your stats are too low"

WTF, my luk is 85+15, which is 100. Sadly, I didn't notice that my current overall adds 1 luk, so I can't wear it! So I go into the mts, pick up a cheap lv 80 shoe which adds 3 luk, put them on, and put on the overall. YAYZ!

Or is it?

Although I wear NX clothes, I don't have nx shoes. I just wear the blue sneakers from the henesys armor shop. Needless to say, the purple shoes did NOT look good, so I take them off. My stats window was still open, and I notice that my luk goes down to 99 and my int drops significantly too. My bazura doesn't go into my equipment window, but it's red. Yeah, I am 1 luk away from wearing my very nice bazura. Luckily (no pun intended), I am only about 45% away from 99 where I'll just add that extra point. Until then, only a 5 int purple enigma for me :(

All I have to say is "FK ME". Seriously! I can scroll a nice weapon when it's just for fun, but when it comes to things I actually want to USE I suck. I finally achieved my dream of getting a Blue Marine, my FINAL weapon. It took alot of mesos to get the 11k nx to buy it, not to mention the 7 staff scrolls (all 60s). So I log into my lucky scrolling channel (17) go into the Orbis potion shop.

.........Are you kidding me!?!? So now I have a 2 int 114 m.att Blue Marine, which is WORSE than my 6 int 114 m.att Kage. But hey guess what I don't care. I can deal with the 4 int loss. I'll sell my Kage for funding for another Blue Marine. Yes I am serious. All 60s again. It will take while but I'll do it.

I have a semi-rant about some very shallow people in maplestory (whatz?! Shallow people in ms? no wai!) Anyways, so I have a mule, mandee6. It was my very very first char, and needless to say, it was messed up. Badly. 10 int rouge that didn't have enough dex at lv 10 to make the job advance . And to make it worse, I had the extreme misfortune of doing the Amoria exp hair quest...and got Stella (the fro). I made it to level 25 though before starting my i/l. My very sexy mule is decked out in a bathrobe (for faster fm browsing) and amethyst earrings. Needless to say, not the best looking character out there. But lately I've been getting annoyed with some of the things people have been saying in my shop and to my face. Not so much the "haha your hair if funny" but the "wow ur ugly nub" or calling me a "btch", among other things. I would change my hair, but I don't want to spend money/mesos on changing the hair on a mule. Maybe I'm thinking too much about it.

My love of scrolling should be paying off pretty soon. I scrolled a 10/97 Maple Demon Axe and a 16/104(!) Maple Belzet. Unfortunetly, scrolling is only half the battle. I have to sell these things now. Some guy offered 9 mil on the axe, but when I whispered him about it, he said that he didn't o.O And the belzet, I have no idea what it's worth, some guy said 60 mil but he isn't on rankings and I can't find him (I wrote down the name). And my friend had the brilliant idea of me putting "godly" belzet in my shop title, only to lead people to call me a nub since it's not "godly" and one guy had the audacity to say it was only worth 4 mil(?) To me, 2/2 30%s and 4/5 60%s is a very good scrolling. Semi-godly even.

2 last things: 1, anyone in Mardia who wants to teach me how to apq let me know. My hubby is taking an extended break and I don't know anyone else who is married -.- And another thing, defame coolsara!! She tried to scam me! So the other day I was playing at a time where there was quite a few people on, not a whole bunch, but still, I had no buddies on! I examined my bl then, and I realized that out of the 27-ish friends I have, most don't even log on anymore! This one guy, I even forgot his name by now, I have 3 of his accounts on my bl, one day he just never came back. At least another friend of mine told me he wasn't gonna play anymore so I could delete him off my bl. I guess it's just wishful thinking that I hope they log back on. Which I totally get, I mean I don't plan on playing Maplestory forever, sure I plan on playing it for a long time. I mean even one day my hubby and I will part ways T.T which is pretty sad, so I don't think about it that much.

So last night I didn't set up my shop, thinking that it would just be closed at 1 am anyways. LIES! There wasn't a patch last night! I was so mad, I was looking forward to CAEK MONSTAZ!

It's okay though, today is my last final! So far I have 2 As and a A- in my classes, this class I have a B in right now, and the final is gonna kick my ass, I just know it. Stupid cumilative finals. I sold my books back yesterday, I was planning on using some of the money to get some NX. But no, out of my 3 books, they would only take 1 back, for $15! I spent over $250 on books...and now I'm stuck with a "Discovering Computers" and a communications book.

While I'm glad school is gonna be done until August, I know I'm gonna be bored out of my mind in 2 weeks. Sure, I'll get to level up fast in maple, but even I get sick of maplestory after a while. I'm still trying to find a job, with no luck. Currently postponing job search until after the week of May 12th, the 12th I'm going to Grand Rapids with some friends, then on May 15th I'm going down to Detroit with my sister for the Duran Duran concert! Woot! *is sad her dad won't buy her Disturbed/Slipknot tickets T.T*

Nothing really exciting in maplestory right now...my husband isn't mad at me anymore, although Ray won't give it up that I don't want to join his guild. Seriously STFU. Bugging me about it won't change my mind. Anyways, Chris is level 77 now! That means we can party (read: leech) at wolf spiders. I hit 86 last night, already at 25%. I wanna get to 87 by this weekend, probably will do that. I want to get a level a week as long as I don't have a job.

About the whole guild thing, still looking. I might just end up making my own haha. I don't really care about rankings, I d/c in gpq. *sigh*, the search continues. Oh, and btw, don't invite someone to your guild after you fail to ks them. Not really a good selling point

One of the best parts of college is the lack of drama. In high school there was just so much drama, backstabbing, badmouthing, etc. That can really burn you out, especially me, since I don't like being mean to people.

Imagine my dismay yesterday when I made my maple hubby storm off.

I don't know my maple hubby irl. He's some 17 year old in Canada. His name is Chris. I'm a 20 year old in Michigan. But, we have a good time together. I'm even friends with one of his real life friends, Ray.

I used to be in the guild Breakfast. I joined through my friend Chris, who my hubby Chris introduced me too (I know, too many Chrises!) Anyways, I quit a while ago, one because I was getting kind of bored of the guild (I felt left out), and plus a lot of those people are facking weird (talking about stabbing each others pen0rz? O...k....). I've been guildless for a few weeks now.

So Ray started a guild called Phoenicia, and he suggested that me and Chris join (Chris was in Sacred Allys). At first, I'm like "wow, cool idea!" I didn't join then, however, I wanted to think about it. Then, when I thought about it, I didn't want to join. One being that I didn't want to be in the same guild as Chris, because I feared we would always be viewed as the "couple" of the guild. I like Chris, but I want to be independent of him. I don't want to be known as "7xpenguinx7's wife", and him not be known as "Protronic's husband". Weird, yes. Another reason is that I fear I'll get bored of Phoenicia, and then quit, then have both Chris and Ray pissed at me. The other Chris and I don't even talk anymore.

So anyways, last night Chris left S.A. for Phoenicia, and after Ray added him and made him Jr, he logged off. I already told Ray my reason for not joining. Chris was confused why I didn't join, so I basically told him the reason. Needless to say, he was kind of pissed. F3 F3 F3. I asked him if he was mad and he said "what do you think?" Then he said "I'm going to train, bye" the quick stormed out of the FM. I figured I wouldn't bother trying to reason with him. I wrote an apology to him on basilmarket, but he either hasn't read it yet or is not gonna reply. Plus, I'm not gonna be on in the next few days due to my finals next week.

I don't understand why he is so mad! Okay, I don't want to be in the same guild as you, get over it! If I spend too much time with someone, I get bored. I need my space! RAWR!

*I'm joining a guild btw, but one where I don't have to be super talkative. I am kind of quiet especially when I want to train*
